Steve Hayes announced his resignation to a packed AGM last night. Steve dedicated most of his heartfelt speech to thanking others - volunteers who dedicated so much time to supporting both the club and him. There were far too many to list here but Steve reserved his final words to thanking Mark Firth without whom he said the club would not be here. Steve wished John Ball, who was later elected as Chair, every success in the coming year.

A consistent theme throughout the rest of the meeting was that, while on the field had been a brilliant year for the club, focus was needed off the field for the club to survive and thrive. Hugh Logan presented a stark financial picture that showed the club had lost money for the last two years and would do so again this year. The new management committee will be looking at a number of initiatives but it was clear the club needs to increase income.

Tim Petty, who ran the meeting, stressed time and again, that the club needs people to step up to help. 'There are numerous roles to be filed and much work to be done, but it needs people to do their bit', he said.

Results from the survey fed into Al Langan's session on a Five Year Plan and John Ball highlighted the need for more volunteers to work on sponsorship. But the last two sessions were the highlight of the evening. Dan Boniface's Senior Report and Mark Firth's M&J report showed what a fantastic season it had been.

In his closing remarks Martyn Kirk thanked Steve for all his hard work, and echoed the sentiment of many - that while there was work to be done, everyone wanted the club to thrive and grow will work towards the success of 'One Club'.
