Firstly, I am delighted to announce that Paul Bennett has accepted our invitation to become Club Chairman. Paul was Club Captain from 1992-94, Director of Rugby from 2007-08 and 2010-12 and has considerable business experience. Paul is a strong leader who is committed to the one club model and I am confident that he is the right man to culturally embed the change processes put in place over the past few years. He has been working abroad in Hong Kong for the past three years and returns to the UK in November. Martin Walters will continue as Interim Chairman until Paul’s arrival after which they will mutually agree a handover process.

Secondly, as we evolve our charity status as a club it's critical that we develop the right leadership to take the club to the next level. To that end we have appointed three further trustees with immediate effect and in line with our constitution. These board members have been appointed based on ensuring we have the right experience and skill set in place to complement the existing founding trustees. The new Trustees are:

John Hopson – a former Club Chairman
Deric Newman – a former Club Hon Sec
Charlotte West – a senior communications professional and mother of two M&J players

At the inaugural meeting I was also formally elected as Chair of the Board of Trustees, a position I have accepted.

The Board of Trustees meets formally four times a year and it is our intention to update on a more regular basis about our focus and plans. It’s a hugely exciting time to be part of Tring Rugby and I look forward to being able to share our journey with you in the coming months.
