Ed Armitage and Ian Jarman on the road for Cancer Research

Two of our born and bred Tring Players, Ed and Ian who have been through the M&J and Academy (since circa 2001) are off on an adventure for a great cause. Please give them your support!

"In June 2016 me (Ed Armitage) and him (Ian Jarman) will be embarking on probably our greatest adventure yet. We are cycling over 1,200 miles from London, United Kingdom to Budapest, Hungary. We will be doing this without a support vehicle, while carrying everything we need for the 3 week long trip on our bikes. Even though this is a trip of a lifetime it will be quite the challenge to complete. Therefore we thought we would raise some money along the way for a cause we believe very passionately about. Please read the reasons why we're doing this cycle and why we're fundraising.

Ed- In September 2015 my Dad was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called a Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumor. It was a terrible shock for everyone in the family as Dad is the healthiest man we know. However after a hard working and challenging 18 weeks of chemotherapy the tumors were greatly reduced. Therefore I am raising money for Cancer Research to show support for not only the victims of cancer but to everyone who is involved with its treatment.

Ian- Cycling across Europe, in my opinion, is probably the greatest way to experience the true magnificence of the continent, and see the incredible scenery it has to offer. The cycle will be a great way to both physically and mentally challenge us, and offer up some unforgettable experiences, many of which we will share on our blog. From a very young age both me and Ed had always loved the idea of travelling together and now we can finally say we are going to do so! The journey will also offer a chance to raise some money for Cancer Research, to raise awareness of cancer and hopefully inspire others to do the same!

Thank you again for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page. Please help us achieve our fundraising amount by donating and sharing our story!

Below are links to our Blog (Gone Cycling) if you wish to get involved and/or contact us and for Cancer Research. Please take the time to read about the cause you are donating for as it is important to raise awareness about cancer and the only way to beat it is through research"
