This weekend TringRugby welcomes players to the Hertfordshire Girls 7’s festival to be held on Sunday 29th April 2012 at Cow Lane.

The festival will be played in accordance with the festival rules and with a similar format as in previous years; Cup, Plate, Bowl and Vase. The basic format is as follows: there will be four pools in each of the age groups (U15s and U18s). Teams will play all the other teams within their pool. Final positions in the pools will be determined by the number of points awarded to each team at the end of the pool games.

The top-placed teams in each pool will then play against each other in semi-finals. As will the runners up, 3rd place and 4th place …etc (However, please note that unfortunately due to the odd number of teams in the U18 competition, the bottom team in League 4 will NOT go through to a semi-final). The winning teams in the semi-finals will then go forward to the finals.

Team registration forms (see attached) should be completed and given to the tannoy control centre prior to play commencing. There will be a map detailing pitch layout. Scores and information will be available from the control centre throughout the day.

There will be a briefing for managers and head coaches in the clubhouse at 9.30am to run through the organisation of the competition. Kick-off will commence at 10am.

We will be operating a designated car park adjacent to the club (charge will be £3 per vehicle) - there will be NO parking allowed on Cow Lane due to safety issues. The routes will be clearly marked. This system should allow people to come and go as is required during the day.

For health and safety reasons, NO DOGS will be allowed at the club on the day. There will be NO BBQ’s allowed at the site, teams will be allowed to set up their own tents for cover from the elements and our clubhouse will be open for those without tents etc.

Refreshments including teas/coffees, sweets, cold drinks, BBQ - selling burgers, bacon rolls and ice creams will be available throughout the day. There will be toilets in the clubhouse and additional facilities in the grounds.

Finalists medals and winners trophies will be presented by England ladies Scrum half, La Toya Mason.

Receiving a first cap for playing against the country of her birth was an unforgettable moment for La Toya Mason. She said: “I appeared against New Zealand in the first Test at Esher two years ago and was so nervous and emotional but it was also so amazing at the same time.” La Toya has advanced to 26 caps, including a starting place in the 12-try defeat of Kazakhstan in the 2010 WRWC pool match. She scored a maiden Test try in that game early in the second half after exploiting a gap on the left wing.
