John Ball gives us his view of the 1s weekend victory over rivals Guernsey.

Nathan Lambden completed his hat trick of tries as Tring took 5 points from the game and leave Guernsey 9 points adrift at the bottom of the table.

There was only time for Guernsey to kick off again before the ref blew his whistle for the end of the game. Clearly this was a fairly even game with Guernsey forwards using their bulk and Tring using their invention out wide to decide the match.

A quick tap penalty from Newton meant Centre , John Preston went over for the first try in the first half. Guernsey came back after Tring shot themselves in the foot by failing to clear their lines and losing a scrum against the head 10 yards from their own try line. Guernsey kept the ball well through the phases without offering anything out wide despite the pace of the Guernsey full back. Back to the forwards it went as they played keep ball throughout the first half and Tring went into the break 1 point ahead.

Tring came out the blocks first in the second half and scored direct from the kick off with Centre Lambden breaking through to score. Guernsey hit back again through the forwards and took the score to 21-22 in their favour before Lambdens decisive touch down with 1 minute to go settled the game.
