A few words from John Hopson about what has been happening at the club during the summer and our plans for the new season.

"As the start of the new rugby season approaches the Management Board have been working during the summer on a number of issues; Charity Status Application, improvements in food and beverage provision and a program to further enhance our relationships with local schools and clubs.

TringRugby has been nominated as a Young Rugby Ambassador by the RFU in preparation for the World Cup in 2015. We aim to encourage more young players through our feeder Secondary Schools, (Tring, Ashlyns, and John F Kennedy) whose students live in our catchment area. We have appointed James Fay as our lead on these two important areas.

The new season will also see us look at starting a Ladies Team. This is another important area for us in the development of the sport and the club. More information on this will be on the website very soon.

For younger children , we will continue to work with our local primary schools to encourage pupils who are interested in joining our thriving Mini and Junior Section.

Rugby Cubs starts from 3 years old and the children stay in the M&J section until they are 16, before joining the Academy, which is an automatic process.

Action returns to Cow Lane on August 16th when the 1s and 2s host Marlow RUFC in pre season friendlies kicking off at 3pm.

The first day of the new M & J season is 7th September at 1000hrs at Cow Lane. For new young players there is a two week free opportunity to come and try rugby before joining the club.

We look forward to seeing you all during the coming season."
