An exciting announcement from Steve Hayes

Having been involved with the club for well over 30 years, Rose Newton recently stood down as VP Ladies Chair but I am delighted to announce that Mel Miles has taken up the role. Mel first came to Tring Rugby four years ago when she introduced her two-and-a-half year old son, George, to rugby for the first time. Mother and son have been hooked ever since. Mel was struck by the values learning rugby instils in young people and soon signed up to coach the Cubs. Mel says ‘George loves his Rugby and just wants to play for the first team! Players like George Hayes, Tom Newton and Nick Radley are his heroes!’

Talking to me about her new role Mel said: “The M&Js are very successful and my George is like many kids who look up to the successful seniors. For the club to grow and thrive we need both. I’d like to help make every lady feel welcome, involved and informed on every aspect of the club - and to be able to play their part in our Club’s success”.

I’d like to thank Rose for her huge contribution and welcome Mel to the role. Once again we are thankful for the amazing work all our volunteers do to support our club.
