Well the waiting is finally over, the pre-season games, conditioning and 'three milers' are behind us and our season finally kicks off in earnest. I couldn't be happier with our preparation leading up to this game and hopefully we can replicate on the pitch what we have been achieving on the training paddock.

Off season recruitment (and indeed retainment) has been particularly encouraging and a big thanks must go to assistant coach and outside half Tom Newton for all of his efforts here; indeed I would like to thank all of the coaches and volunteers for all of their hard work, diligence and professionalism. Selection was simply the toughest yet as we now have over 50 players in the senior set up and if you have wandered up to watch any of the 2nd XV game you will have seen some outstanding players who were very unlucky to miss out. With over 35 players representing the first XV last year I have no doubt they will all get their chance and they will have to take It.

Now is also the time to give a big thank you to the supporters of senior rugby here at our wonderful club. Only time will tell what the season will bring but I can guarantee there will be no shortage of effort from the players and coaches to deliver some quality rugby and hopefully results!
