We are proud to nominate three of our brilliant volunteers.

There are over 100,000 volunteers who give back to grassroots rugby, week in, week out. No club would be the same without the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes.

Every year The RFU Volunteer Awards recognise these people. The awards are organised in regional heats with the Hertfordshire Volunteer winner being selected at a county awards lunch at the Allianz Stadium on 29th April 2018. The Hertfordshire volunteer of the year will then go forward to a black tie event at Twickenham where three overall national winners will be announced!

We are proud to nominate three of our brilliant volunteers.

Jacquie Worrall – The lead coach in our cubs section (ages 2 ½ to 5), Jacquie is there every Sunday to lead the cubs players, parents and coaches. She introduces kids to rugby, with fun rugby based games that introduce basic skills whilst bringing children into the rugby spirit and ethos. This season Tring RUFC has 52 registered cubs, a phenomenal effort by Jacquie and her team.

Paul (Gunny) Gunn – Our academy lead coach focuses on assisting 16 to 19 year olds transition to adult rugby in the academy that he assisted being set up many years ago. He also helps Junior age groups on a Wednesday night and Sunday morning. Gunny has been a stalwart of our coaching set up in youth rugby for many years and a large number of our senior players have been coached by Gunny.

[b]Mark Firth[/Mark has served TringRugby for over 20 years. Originally coaching within one age group before leading a second, and serving as Mini & Junior Chair. Mark co-founded the Tring Rugby Academy and managed this for three years. More recently he served as club treasurer for 4 years driving the clubs commercial activities and was instrumental in supporting our cubs section foundation. Mark's been persuaded to return to coaching and is now in his third age group, helping to coach the current U12s and this year returned for his second tenure as our M&J chair. On top of all this he’s organised the Tring Rugby Minis Festival for over 10 years. You will find Mark most Sundays at the club from around 8am ensuring everything is just right. His latest project is re-establishing girls rugby at Cow Lane.

Thanks to these three, and to all our volunteers! Good luck!
