2 tours and 2 trophies.. A successful tour, no children or parents got lost and we ended up winning the Uckfield Tournament !!! Steve Hill Reports

After a couple of heavy days golfing, beaches, swimming, curry, karting, human pyramids, yellow hoodies, arcades, caravans, drinking games, funfairs, some new songs and a few fruit shoots in the delightful Selsey countryside, we showed up at Uckfield in Sussex for the Festival.

We had two teams taking part Tring Yellows and Tring Blacks and were up agaisnt some stiff competition with the likes of Crowborough, Lewes, Hastings, Horsham, Tunbridge Wells Eastbourne, East Grinstead and Uckfield. Both teams did themselves proud with the yellows putting up some great performances and some strong rugby in a tough tournament. They held our own and kept the scores to a respectable margin with some great forward and back play and were unfortunate to not turn over some good wins.

Tring Blacks got off to a good start with a narrow win against Horsham which was enough to get the heads held high and the next two games saw a real try fest with 12 tries over the two games. The last Group game was a decider for a place in the final and saw a well earned 2-1 victory to secure our place. So unbeaten in the pool games we went on to play a physical Lewes side in the final and what a spectacle it was - a hard fought gritty game which saw us grind out to allow Will Mathews to cross over for the only try of the game and to secure the Winners trophy for Tring u11 !!

Joe Hunter collected the trophy on behalf of the squad and all 24 players played their part in a great day for Tring Rugby.
Thanks to Olly Bell, Tom Lindars, Sam Carter, Will Mathews, Billy Boot, Jack Harman, Daniel Brierley, Joe Hunter, Jack Batchelor, Ben Hodgson, Ben Carter-Savigear, Robbie Filleul, Charlie Kelly, Dan Penaliggon, Charlie Oakes, Edward Bryant, Henry Montague, Matthew Hill, James Cain, Owen Hill, Max Davies, Pip Waterhouse, Will Nicholls and Harry Pearce !!

So that's two trophies from our two tours...next year Paris ?

Well done everyone and thanks to all the coaches and parents who helped make it a another successful tour ! Congratulations Boys!!!
