Tring U7 Tigers entered the competition having won the Bicester B festival but knowing that this would be a much harder test.

The 1st match was against Wasps A team who started at a furious pace rattling in some good tries and as hard as Tring tried, they were trailing by three at the break. The Tigers woke up in the second period and against a very strong side, managed two tries, Charlie Goodwyn and Charles Hardy (lost 2-5).

Next up were High Wycombe A's. Growing in confidence and tagging, the Tigers managed a draw 4-4 against this A team. Tries by Finlee Ferguson, Charles Hardy, Tom Oakes and the try of the day from Charlie Goodwyn.

Next they took on Marlow A team and put on a spirited display of tagging before eventually going down 2-3. Tries scored by Charlie Garlick and Miles Mentiply-Johnson. Organisers soon told us we had done enough to get through to the shield competition where we faced High Wycombe B's in the semi-final. This should have been a much easier game, but the Tigers took their foot off the throttle and drew 5-5. Tries by Sam Bird, Charlie Goodwyn, Ollie Lemonde, Charles Hardy and Tom Oakes. Following some quick calculations, it became apparent we had scored enough tries overall to go through to the final.

The Final was against Wasps B's and was played at a terrific pace . The scores were close throughout and balanced at 5-5 with moments to go. The Tring support were doing their best to outshout the home fans when some great passes found Oisin Florsheim with a bit of space, he accelerated away to the roar of the crowd beating at least four would-be taggers to run in a memorable winning try in the corner. Final score 6-5 to Tring, the Tigers had won the shield! Tries by Sam Bird, Charlie Goodwyn and two each for Oisin Florsheim and Charles Hardy
