Matt Goodliffe reports back from a great day for the squad.

It seemed only right to write something on our web page after a tremendous day for Tring under 10's at the Beaconsfield tournament.

I was lucky enough to be invited to go with our team and under the leadership of the team coach Rob Sussum they excelled.

Every player without exception played with a passion and heart that both Rob and I could only smile at and be extremely proud of. There were tackles made time and time again by some our smallest players on kids that would have not looked out of place in an under 11 team. Great running lines, support play and taking the ball into contact was done with a desire from within you could see written all over their faces. At times I would have felt frightened to face them with that warrior look in their eyes. It really was tremendous.

Beyond the passionate rugby faces there were smiles all round and a joy that could be felt by all. The support from the Tring parents and team members on the touch line could have stifled a millennium stadium crowd, trying to rally their team against an England grand slam team !?

Rob lead the day well and has obviously created a great team spirit and desire but that couldn't be done without you boys.

Today really set the stage for the other teams in our age group as they go into festival season. Let's hope they do as well.

What a great day. We're really proud of you, you did the club proud, but mostly yourselves and your team.

A day to remember!
