A great showing from the Under 7s at the Amersham and Chiltern Development Festival bodes well for the future.

We were pleased to hear of a strong performance from the Cheetahs and that the Lions came 2nd overall, having narrowly lost out to an unbeaten Maidenhead by one try, who were the eventual winners.

Well done to the Tring Cheetahs for their performance in the glorious Amersham mud at the A&C Development Festival. The team had a great start, beating Old Albanians in the first match. Although the Cheetahs improved throughout the morning, they were unlucky with the results, losing by a point here and there.

Everyone played well, with the older boys helping the younger boys. Particular mention to Toby and Samuel who both represented Tring in their first ever tournament. Toby was enthusiastic and got stuck in and Samuel scored a couple of tries running at speed the full length of the pitch.

Of the tournament veterans, Rishy's support play was strong, Darshan did some great tagging, and Henry scored a number of exciting tries.

The Lions had a fantastic tournament, showing great enthusiasm and supporting each other well. Particularly noticeable was our accurate passing and attacking running by all our players. The team had a tight opening game against OA's that Tring won 8-7, with some great running into the gaps from Saul and Archie Seddon, grabbing themselves a number of tries each. Ed's experience showed throughout as he tagged well, gave plenty of running support and found the try line numerous times. George and Archie supported each other well, especially in the wins against Beaconsfield (9-4) and A&C (5-4), setting each other up for some exciting long runs to the try line.

Joseph and Matthew showed the benefit of their hard work in training every Sunday by scoring a number of very exciting tries. A tight game against a strong Maidenhead side who scored the winning try on the final whistle did nothing to cloud a great all round Tring performance (8-9). The final game against Ruislip ended with Tring triumphantly scoring 6 tries in the second half to win 10-5, the all round quality of the Tring tagging really restricting Ruislip's attacks.
