Touring together really does cement the friendships that the teams have and they love the chance to spend time together away from the rugby pitch.

This year we have teamed up with Gullivers Sports Travel (part of TUI) and Worcester Warriors to create a bespoke tour which we hope you’ll like the sound of.

Where

Condover Hall (http://www.jca-adventure.co.uk/activity-centres/condover-hall). A PGL centre near to Shrewsbury in Shropshire. Condover Hall offers a variety of outdoor activities, a café, bar, restaurant, and even its own dance room.

When

Friday May 4th to Monday May 7th 2018

How will the weekend work?

We’ll arrive at Condover and check into our rooms on Friday evening with welcome drinks in the bar. This is when travelling players will be presented with their playing shirts.

Saturday – All tourists will be able to take part in a variety of outdoor activities including laser maze, kayaking, high wires, etc. There will also be a treasure hunt before dinner. After dinner we’ll meet for our Tour Olympics.

Sunday – All players will head to the Shropshire Rugby Festival, 20 minutes away at Telford Hornets RFC. This will operate in the same way as our usual festivals. Once we’ve returned to Condover we’ll have dinner and then our own awards ceremony.

On either Saturday or Sunday we’ll also take part in some coaching sessions run by Worcester Warriors.

Monday is leaving day after a final leisurely breakfast.

Accommodation

Accommodation will be in a combination of shared dormitories (some of which can be turned into family rooms if you really want to be together), twin and single rooms. We know this is slightly different to previous years but have taken on board lots of feedback and it sounds like the children think that sharing dorms with other friends from their age groups will really add to the weekend. We will try to keep all children from each age group together along with rooms for age group parents (there will be some female only ones for the mums and female siblings travelling, we’re not going to make you share with the men, unless you really want to!) and coaches. The twin and single rooms are very limited in number.

Costs

These prices are all inclusive and cover all accommodation, all meals at Condover Hall and outdoor activities, as well as entry to the rugby festival and the coaching sessions with Worcester Warriors. All you will need to do is get yourself there and bring some beer or sweet money. Each player will also receive a playing shirt; we’ll let you know about any costs for additional tour clothing later.

Shared accommodation - £143 per head
Twin accommodation (limited availability) – £159 per head
Single accommodation (limited availability) - £172 per head

Booking details

Playing places are limited. Each age group has differing squad sizes but once a squad is filled we will create a waiting list in order to try and get as many players on tour as we can achieve. Bookings will be on a strictly first come first served basis.

To reserve your place please email hello@tourcomm.co.uk with details of your player and their age group, any travelling parents and siblings along with a preference for room type for each member of the party, e.g. shared age group, shared female, etc. We will try to comply with any room requests but we can’t make guarantees until we know fully who will be travelling. Once we have received your email we will reply with details of a £35 per head deposit payment. This will need to be received by our bank before your place is confirmed.

All deposits and bookings will need to be received before September 30th, 2017 as bookings will close then.

Age group reps

Each age group has a tour rep, once your place is confirmed these will be the people to ask if you have any queries and they will contact you directly with further details.

U7 – Anthony Horner
U8 – Nick Turner
U9 – Roland Seddon
U10 – Kalpa Mojaria, Sam Harrison & Becky Aston
U11 – Graham Brown
U12 – Charlotte Blackburn

Fundraising and Events

As usual we will need to carry out some fundraising activities so that we can pay for players shirts and evening entertainment for all travellers.

Events planned so far are below, please add them to your diaries and support them if you can. It really does make a huge difference to what we can do while we’re away. If you have any other ideas for fundraising or would like to organise something, e.g. a Sunday morning cake sale, please let us know. Any help would be much appreciated.

Friday 17th November – Family Quiz and Games Night – TringRugby
Friday 24th November – Bottle Tombola and Mulled Wine at Tring Christmas Festival
Friday 23rd March – Tour Social at TringRugby

This year we will also be asking you to sell a few raffle tickets to your friends and family outside of the club for us. Tickets will be £1 each and the prize will be one third of the total amount collected when the draw takes place on April 1st 2018. The more we sell, the more we’ll raise and the bigger the prize fund will be. Please do help us by selling as many as you feel able.

Sponsorship

We want to try to cover the cost of players shirts through sponsorship by willing parents and local companies. If you feel you would like to sponsor the tour in any way, maybe a logo on the shirt, or a t shirt each for the travelling players and siblings, please let us know. All sponsorship is very much appreciated by the children who love their tour shirts and wear them long after tour has finished.
