Volunteering is incredibly rewarding and we have several roles available.

Previously lots of young ladies in our mini section had to leave when they reached the end of U11’s. Now they will be able to continue their playing career for Tring Rugby and stay part of our rugby family as we launch an U13 Ladies Section.

What’s more we are excited to announce that our own Zoe Harrison, who started rugby at Tring and now plays for Saracens and England ladies, will be our ladies section champion.

The new U13 section needs a team of dedicated volunteers to run and coach, with training on Sunday lunchtimes and matches in Hert’s ladies festivals across the season.

Could you help our young people continue to get all the life skills and personal benefits that being part of Tring Rugby Club gives them? Volunteering is incredibly rewarding and we have several roles available.

We need an U13’s Team Manager to liaise with section coaches/ players/ parents on training or match arrangements, and be the link between U13’s ladies and the club and other clubs that the section plays matches against. The person will also oversee the lady players being registered to the club and RFU. Time applicable to the role – 1 hour a week + match time (maybe more at the start of the season).

Previous experience not necessary, if you would like to be one of our two or more U13’s Coach and we will support with RFU Training. A great opportunity to learn new skills or develop your coaching. Coaches will take training sessions each Sunday lunchtime and be at matches. You will also work with other coaches to link into local schools to spread the word. You will need two hours on Sunday and admin time. All coaches will have to be DBS cleared and again the club will support this process.

The club will support you with other coaches when you can’t be at a training/ match session.

Finally we are looking for someone to be the section’s First Aider, to deal with any training or match First Aid issues and liaise with the club’s welfare and First Aid people. No experience necessary as the club will support you with rugby related First Aid courses. You will need two hours per Sunday and admin time.

We appreciate peoples’ time is precious. The club will support the set up, running and ongoing development as much as possible, particularly in the initial phase of starting the section. To register your interest in these roles, contact Mark Firth, M&J Chair at: mfirth@tringrugby.com and we can then start discussions on how we can work together on this exciting initiative for TringRugby next season.
