All you need to know for next week

Thank you for signing up your child/ children up for the forthcoming Tring Rugby Summer Rugby Camp. Below are some details to ensure the camp runs smoothly for you and the children:

Clubhouse will be where you drop off or pick up your children:

  • Drop Off/ registration each day from 9:30am
  • Rugby Camp sessions start each day at 10am
  • Morning session bookings collection time – 1pm
  • End of day collection time – 3:30pm

Weather:
The weather forecast is looking good for the whole week (at the moment!), please ensure your child has a hat and protection from the sun and if really sunny, ensure they are wearing sunscreen. Likewise if it is forecast to rain, ensure children have appropriate clothing to change into. If, during any of the sessions it is raining hard or lightning, the kids will be immediately taken indoors to the clubhouse.

Footwear:
Children should wear trainers to the camp. If they have rugby boots, bring them along but we anticipate the ground will be too hard to take a stud and so boots won’t be worn.

Mouth guards:
This is a non contact rugby camp, but if your child has a gum shield we advise them brining it so they continue to get used to wearing it.

Medication:
Can you put in a bag for your child and mark the bag with there name, if the medication is needed in the field sessions, the child should bring it with them and hand to the coach who is taking the session.

Drinks and snacks:
Bring a drinks bottle and small snacks for rest periods when out on the field during the sessions.

Clubhouse:
We meet, have lunch and picks are in the main clubhouse, during the sessions on the field, the clubhouse will be locked so children can leave items there, however we cannot accept any liability for items left on the premises or lost during the camp.

Parents/Guardians:
There is no need to stay during the sessions unless you want to! The camp is run by qualified people who are used to dealing with children.

Emergency Contact:
You provided mobile phone number/s when you registered in case of emergency; the organisers have all the information and will call immediately if there is an issue.

Summer Camp sessions.
Participants will be grouped into age group sections; the sessions aimed at learning whilst having fun.
Ben Criddle (Tring 1st team player) and Chris Curry (local school sports master) are leading the sessions with other summer camp coordinators present through the week.
We run a friendly camp, we wont tolerate bullying or abuse, if you have any concerns during the week about any issues, please talk to Ben or Chris in the 1st instance.

Awards
We have daily awards and certificates to give out, we also have an end of week camp awards for those that have (in the organisers opinion) learnt and contributed to the camp spirit. These are given out at the end of each daily session.

Tuesday – Fish Fingers, baked beans and chips.
