Volunteers from all sections of the club deliver a fantastic day of kids’ rugby.

Cow Lane was packed on Sunday 24th May 2019 as over 1,200 parents and players took part in the 2019 Minis Festival hosted by TringRugby. Over 75 teams from Harpenden, Old Albanians, Amersham and Chiltern, Beaconsfield, Chesham, Westcliff, Woodlands School, Essex ,Old Silhillians, West Midlands and Tring took part in a great day of children’s rugby.

Such an event is a huge logistical challenge and people from all over the M&J section of
the club rallied together to make it put on another terrific festival at Tring. Volunteers from across the M&J section set up,ran each age group games and pitch areas and cleared the site afterwards, while our U16s parents and players manned the car parking. As ever our groundsman, Martin Walters had his hands full making sure the grounds were all in great shape ,with so many people on site our bar and catering teams were kept busy throughout the day.

Local businesses recognised the club’s contribution to the local community and special thanks go to Pendley Manor for their continued support and use of their grounds to accommodate visitor car parking.

Mark Firth, M&J Chairman who organised the event and ensured the whole day went off brilliantly - said “It was fantastic to see so many players and supporters from all over our region and beyond having a great day of rugby in the sunshine, facilitated by TringRugby, my thanks to all who volunteered over the weekend to make this event happen”.
