We are sorry to inform you that George Murrell, former Tring Rugby player, tragically died on Tuesday 30th April.

George joined the club, aged 6, following his Step brother Jack, uncle Simon and cousin Alex - in 2004 and played for 10 years before going to farming college.

George was ever present in a successful and close bunch of players who all grew up together. Some went to Primary school in Long Marston with George and some at Tring School with him.

He was a lovely, smiley boy who grew up into a smashing young man working his way through life doing what he loved, farming.

On the pitch, he moved around from the forwards to the backs and was deservedly voted Player of the Year when he was 10. He was a lovely runner and a crunching tackler, who just enjoyed being one of the lads and like all good players enjoyed the after match fun and tours as much as playing.
George leaves a younger brother Tristan who plays for Tring 2/3 xv.

Tring Rugby Club and all of George’s fellow players and coaches wish to pass on their heartfelt sorrow and support to the Murrell family at this terrible time.

George’s memorial service will be held at Tring Church on Friday 17th May at 14.30.
