On the 8th July, TringRugby defended the Herts RFU Golf Cup at East Herts Golf Club, and retained the Trophy. The team of (L to R) John Hopson, Ben Criddle, Louis Michalski and Steve Hayes won by 4 points.
The format was 4 ball teams scoring best 2 stableford scores per hole, Tring scored an amazing 93 points. John Hopson was 2 under after 2 holes and a further 4 points on the 13th added to the score. Ben played well also contributing to the score with 4 pointers, Louis missed an 8ft putt for eagle on the 17th hitting the ball miles, but Steve was the star, +6 on the back 9 off a 23 handicap!!! With an overall 50 points on the back 9, Tring were always going to be a hard act to beat.
