Playing on a very narrow pitch, Tring managed to score after 5 minutes with debutant Charles Bose.
From there Tring built a strong platform through the set piece, strong running and great offloads. This created additional tries from Will Mitchell (12) Richard Roberts (17) and two from Josh Smith (25 & 30) with William Mitchell converting 4 out of 5 to make the score 0-33 to Tring at half time.
After the break Tring allowed complacency to set in and allowed Old Priorians to score 5 minutes after the whistle. Tring lost their shape and didn't manage to build on the hard work of the first half until the 60th minute when Charles Bose finished an outstanding period of play from the backs and forwards. With the momentum back with Tring they were able to score twice via Ben Hogan (65) and John Preston (70). William Mitchell who converted 7 out of 8 kicks had the last word with a sweet drop goal from 30 meters out finishing the game 7-57 to Tring after the final whistle.
The game had some fantastic moments with Josh Smith and Nick brown running excellent lines and strong carries. The front row continued to impress as did our young backrow with Ed Ellson the standout player this match. Strong carries, aggressive tackling and good support runs made him man of the match.
