Tring 2s played a strong and well organised Academy side from Esher. In the first half defences from both sides were on top. Tring won plenty of possession from a solid scrum but were unable to turn this dominance into tries.Tom Mills slotted two penalties to give Tring a first half lead.In the second half Esher started brightly and scored two tries of their own from a combination of poor defence and discipline from the home side.Tring fought back, but poor discipline prevented the home side from building any pressure in the Esher 22. A penalty from Ben Selwyn brought the score to 9-15 with 10 to go. Tring eventually started to apply pressure on the Esher line with a series of scrums with time nearly up.To Eshers credit their defence held firm and the game was lost.
This was a game that the 2s should have won and next week hopefully they will learn from the errors to turn things around v London Scottish.
