A much improved performance saw Tring 3s edged out by a combative St Albans side

Tring tackled well throughout and had a kick to win the game but alas the kick went wide and St.Albans took the spoils.
Tring started well with Nick Game slotting two penalties. Then came a spectacular try from George Dimitrias who fielded a ball in his 22 and set off on a run that mazed through the St Albans defence to score under the posts. A quite brilliant score was the highlight of the afternoon.
Tring backs tried to puncture the St Albans all afternoon with Shane Graham to the fore.
But St Albans were resolute in defence and strong up front to deprive Tring of enough ball to capitalise on their backs superiority. Tring coped well with the St Albans backs with strong tackling.
The St Albans forwards were formidable and were able to keep the ball and their scores came through their forward dominance in the 2nd half after sapping the strength of the Tring 8.
There were some notable performances from the colts. Louis Michalski was excellent on the flank turning over ball on at least 2 occasions. He will benefit from playing senior rugby where his fitness and experience will improve. Aaron Dines produced some excellent forward runs barging into the big forward pack of St Albans. Ed Martin came on for Bruce Ferguson at half time and showed his promise linking up with Jack Dodson at fly half. All these colts can progress through the ranks at Tring senior teams. Regular outings on Saturday will help them all and we hope theycan get into the 2nds without too long.
