Tring were looking for the next win of their league campaign against London Scottish to maintain their unbeaten position. Tring got off to a bad start when the London Scottish outside centre scored after a well worked break down the wing. London Scottish then made two well worked breaks back to back to score twice however, their Fly Half was not on his metal and could not convert the second try, leaving the score at 0-10.

Dan Peplow was forced off with a dead leg after a bone crunching tackle from London Scottish's outside centre who clearly looked to make his mark on the game. Ben hogan then showed some flair in the 30th minute when running it out from his own line after a poorly executed trick penalty by London Scottish on Tring's 5m line.

Tring soon worked up the pitch and put Scottish under pressure with a number of mauls, one resulting in foul play from the Scottish forwards, with the flanker being sent to the bin. Ben Sainsbury capitalised from a well worked team try and scored from a short range drive. Hogan was unlucky to miss the conversion, leaving the score at 5-10.

After giving a rousing half time team talk, coaches, Ben Criddle and Grant made some intelligent tactical substitutions which put the Tring boys back into the game.

Tring took the half time kick off, and after some suspect handling from London Scottish, the London Scottish no.8 ran 80 metres to score a lucky try facilitated by Tring's missed tackles which was converted by their temperamental fly half. Tring put yet again more pressure on London Scottish, forcing a knock on off the kick off and after a period of well worked rugby Danny Ritchie crossed for a try which was then marked off by a debatable refereeing decision.

Following the substitutions, the London Scottish fly half made yet another mistake, kicking out on the full which provided a line out just outside the opposition 22 for Tring. Scottish, applied their illegal tactics in the line out to provide a penalty which Ben Hogan took quickly, fed Ben Sainsbury, who went over for a try, making the score 10-17.

10 mins into the 2nd half, Euan Ferguson and Cameron McIntosh combined to provide a dream run through Scottish defence which Cam just failed to convert. The match returned to an evenly fought affair until an 80m Ben Sainsbury charge which provided Euan Ferguson with an opportunity to spread it wide to Cameron McIntosh who bustled over, Hogan missing the conversion.
15-17.

A costly mistake at the kick off by the Scottish fly half provided a great attacking platform for Tring. Hogan provided a well timed pass to Euan Ferguson off the scrum to set a great platform for the magic combination of Alex Nunn and Robbie Johnson, Robbie embarrassing the Scottish fullback to cross over under the sticks and take the lead. Hogan successful in his conversion attempt, making the score 22-17.

Tring defended their own line for the last 10 minutes, holding off the London Scottish attack and clinching the victory 22-17.

MOM = Ben Sainsbury
