U7&6s put through their paces

It was great to have George there. For the children to know that he was once in their shoes and now plays for the 1st team is a real inspiration for them.
- Dayner Proudfoot, Under 7 head coach

Senior 1st team player George Hayes visited the TringRugby Minis section on Sunday to put the Under 7s and 6s through their paces.

Having played in the TringRugby Mini & Junior section himself from the age of 7, George was the perfect example of how this group of children will become the next generation of 1st team players.

This is part of an exciting initiative that sees the senior teams and the Mini & Juniors work a lot closer together, while using players like George to inspire the children and get them (even more) excited about rugby.

George helped out with the coaching and got involved with popular sessions including Bulldog, Statues and Chaos, while sharing some of his expert skills along the way.

The children then put what they learnt into practice during the match play part of the training session.

It was clear to see that George was impressed with the talent on show. He presented the Player of the Week trophy to those that really impressed the coaches and the Big Effort Awards to those that clearly put a lot of hard work and effort in.

TringRugby has a proud tradition of developing young talent through to our senior sides and boasts one of the oldest Mini & Junior sections in England.

If you would like your child to try rugby at Tring then please bring them along on a Sunday morning. All Mini & Junior teams train at 10am unless a fixture or festival has been arranged. Please feel free to contact the head coach of each team for more information.

All new players get to have a trial period to ensure they enjoy rugby – which we know they will!
