Under 9 Super Sunday !!

Hi Everyone,

What can I say except a great training session yesterday. Watford were the visitors and what a fantastci bunch of players and coaches. From the start they were keen to get involved with us and mix everyone about so that ALL players got to play as much Rugby as possible.

I was really proud with the friendly way our players welcomed Watford and days like yetserday make me really proud to be a coach in this age group. The players are a credit to themselves, you and not least the club. Thanks again for a superb day and session. The commitment was excellent and it is looking good for the remainder of the season. Our players are not stepping away from the contact and keen to get involved. GREAT STUFF... We are training next Sunday although I do appreciate it is the RWC Final. Some of the other age groupd are delaying their start times to allow people the chance to watch it. If this is something you would like me to do then email me and I will go with the majority.

As you are aware we had a team at Bishops Stortford. Throughout the day I was in contact with Matt G and Nicola (Better Half) and I spoke to Matt G today and he has sent me the following report:

A report on the weekend. Not much more to say other than fantastic. All boys played with real heart and determination, did themselves, us and Tring rugby proud.
As I said to you, told the boys rugby is all about heart, that's where it's played and they really showed it. I loved seeing them run on to the pitch at starts of game and second half, showed real intent, while other teams ambled on we ran on and were lined up and ready and waiting to play, sent a clear message to the opposition, great to see.
Great team spirit, the one and only game we lost 1-0 to OA's, we had all the territory in both halves and going down in the first half seemed to strengthen us ! I told them how proud I was and if they'd played the first half like they did the second, OA's would have folded, all the match pretty much was in their half, just unlucky, but huge pride in defeat !
Territorial advantage in all games was ours, would loved to have T.V. stats to prove it.
Great tackles made a few metres out and chase downs, it goes on. We were great.

Stats :

Tring v Welwyn 1-0
Tring v Cambridge 3-0
Tring v Colchester 0-0 ( tough game, high tackles, punch thrown, so we did really well there )
Tring v OA's 0-1 ( showed real spirit, truly unlucky to lose )
Tring v Bishops Stortford 1-0 ( straight after game with OA's )

Plate Final v Upminster 3-0

TRING PLATE FINAL WINNERS !!!!!!!!!!!

Only two tries conceded in 6 games, that probably says it all. Matt G

From me thanks to all the coaches again either at TRING or BISHOPS STORTFORD also thanks to Ben Noithip, at Bishops Stortford, recruited to run touch in every game we played, as touch judge and very diplomatically and correctly informed the ref of some rulings !!!

As ever great support from parents and even Tring "Angels " chorus at one point , they so need pom poms.[/i]

WELL DONE TEAM AND I WILL RETURN THE TROPHY ON SUNDAY to be shared about.

Kenny
