It has been too long.

Hi Everyone,

It has been a while since my last communication and match report. Apologies for this and will be looking to ensure they are a regular feature of our age group.

The last fews weeks have seen us face some real challenges within the age group and since winning the Plate at Bishop's Stortford we have travelled to OA's and had Amersham & Chiltern visit.

As I said on Sunday I am proud and always will be proud of our age group and the special players and team spirit we have. They are a credit to you and the club. We had a bit of a shakey start against A&C on Sudnay but then seen some terrific play in places.

As I always promise to you, as parents and players that EVERYONE develops in different ways and people have peaks and troughs. As you can see this season is no different. To this end I will be looking to mix things around on Sunday and select teams based on where I think they are at this moment. For me it is about enjoyment for the players who I am always looking to take a step forward in their Rugby education.

There is no pressure at all to win !!! Only to give 100% and play as a team

I will speak to the players on Suday to emphasise this but can I ask you to stress it at home as well. I am looking for players to be saying to you 'What they learned this week !'

They train really well and perform the exercises superbly but then step onto a pitch and forget that !!

White line fever setting in for some. I have noticed over the past few weeks its the same players who set for the scrums / lineouts whilst the same players are looking to receive the ball or run with it.... I have not allocated positions and don't want to yet. Im looking for you to encourage ALL your players to get involved in the game and if they are first to the Ruck / Drive / Maul ... rather than stand up waiting for someone else to do it so they can pick up the ball and run ... GET INVOLVED!!!

If we work together, with your encouragement and our coaching we will see the team transform !! Promise ...

Anyway enough of me bleating on ... I will see you all Sunday and remeber it is Children in Need ....
