Job Title: Huel Tring 2nd Team Rugby Coach

Location: Huel Tring Rugby Football Club, Dorian Williams Sports Ground, Hertfordshire, Cow Lane, Tring HP23 5NS

Reports to: Director of Rugby/Head Coach

Start Date: July 2025

Role Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 2nd Team Rugby Coach to support the development and performance of our second XV. The coach will play a key role in preparing players for progression to the 1st team while also ensuring a positive, inclusive, and competitive rugby environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging training sessions tailored to the needs of the 2nd XV squad.

• Work closely with the Head Coach and coaching staff to align playing philosophy, skills development, and tactical frameworks across teams.

• Select the team for weekly fixtures in consultation with the coaching team.

• Foster individual player development and support transitions between the 1st and 2nd XVs.

• Maintain strong communication with players, support staff, and other coaches.

• Uphold and promote the club's values, code of conduct, and standards of discipline.

• Contribute to player reviews and performance assessments.

• Support player welfare and maintain a safe training and matchday environment.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous experience in coaching rugby union.

• Minimum [RFU Level 2] coaching qualification (or working towards it).

• Strong knowledge of rugby tactics, technique, and modern coaching methods.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

• Passion for player development and team building.

• Able to commit to regular training sessions and weekend fixtures.

Desirable:

• Experience working with young adults.

• Experience of transitioning young adults into the senior environment.

• Ability to analyse performance using Veo.
