Reports to: Director of Rugby / Head Coach

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

Huel Tring RFC is looking for a passionate and dedicated 2nd XV Rugby Coach to help develop and lead our second team. You’ll play a vital part in preparing players for progression to the 1st XV while maintaining a competitive, inclusive, and positive rugby environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan and deliver engaging training sessions for the 2nd XV squad.
  • Collaborate with the Head Coach and wider coaching team to align skills, tactics, and playing philosophy across teams.
  • Select weekly matchday squads in consultation with the coaching group.
  • Support individual player development and smooth transitions between the 1st and 2nd XVs.
  • Communicate effectively with players, staff, and other coaches.
  • Uphold the club’s values, standards, and code of conduct.
  • Contribute to player reviews and performance feedback.
  • Promote player welfare and ensure a safe, enjoyable rugby environment.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience coaching rugby union.
  • Minimum RFU Level 2 (or England Rugby Coaching Award) qualification — or currently working towards it.
  • Strong tactical and technical rugby knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to training sessions and weekend fixtures.
  • A genuine passion for developing players and team culture.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with young adults and helping them transition into senior rugby.
  • Familiarity with performance analysis tools such as Veo.
