TringRugby Mini and Junior section hosted it's annual festival of rugby yesterday (March 11th). We had teams visiting from across Hertfordshire as well as some of our neighbours in Buckinghamshire. There were upwards of 1000 children from U7 to U12 and each of them gave 100%. Well done and congratulations to those clubs who won medals and trophies. However, for me, the greatest achievement was seeing so many children enjoying the fantastic sport of Rugby.
It was a glorious, sunny day and considering the weather the week before I was glad to be in shorts rather than thermals!
I want to finish off by saying A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who helped out setting up, clearing away, marking pitches, staffing stalls, attending car parks or marshalling pitches. Also, to each of the coaches who week in and week out give up so much time to make TringRugby the successful club that it is. I would particularly like to mention Mark Firth, Mike Kearney and John Harrison for the amount of work they have put in behind the scenes to ensure the festival was such a great day.
I am so proud to be associated with this wonderful and friendly club. We now look forward to the next festivals we are hosting as well as to TringBall 2012.
