This was an odd weekend. With just 15 minutes until KO OMTs had just 2 players in the away changing room. Tring managed to get good numbers, 20 in the squad, and so it was decided that the game would be forfeited by OMTs and there would be an 11 aside game of Tring vs Tring.
Then, a few minutes later, esteemed referee Tim Petty informed us that OMTs now had some more players in the changing rooms, another 8 to be precise, and that they were mainly very large Fijians!
So we played a competitive game, Tring leant OMTS 5 players and the result was a little one sided. Tring were the better drilled side but it has to be said that if the Fijians continue to play for OMTs and get some game time together they will be a formidable force.
Tring saw great performances around the pitch, standing out were Rory Bowness, Drew Bowness (hatrick), Tom Metcalffe plus man of the match and new cap Duncan Maddinson who continues the take over of Tring by Aussies avoiding deportation.
