I'm delighted to say that the U16 bandwagon continues. Another incredibly mature performance from the boys at Bedford yesterday moves us up the league table with a bonus point victory. The final score of 12-27 was a reflection of the dominance we held for the majority of the game.

The first 20 mins was as complete a performance as I can remember with the squad. The forwards were running round the corner with real determination to keep the defence under pressure and then the ball was released to the backs who used the space well. A good early penalty from Tonka got us on the scoreboard followed by a try from Coxy off the back of an increasingly effective driving maul which got us to 8-0. Toby then followed with another try after attacking with a great line close to the ruck, crashing through a mass of bodies (Vunipola style) starting at the 22 metre line. We then fell asleep for 10 mins before half time, got a bit sloppy with our tackling and let them score 2 tries to go into halftime 12-15 up.

In the second half the boys sorted themselves out, went back to the play that got them ahead in the first place and Coxy scored another good try off the back of a rolling maul from a line-out. 5 mins later Eddie then followed up with our bonus point try in the corner, with some great attacking rugby which took the Bedford defence left and right. This took us to 12-27 up with 20 mins to play and the boys (including all the subs) closed out the game by playing sensible rugby against an increasingly niggley Bedford team.

So a great game to watch and another good team performance with the whole squad playing their part. 2 for 2 in the league, gathering momentum for the team and our next league match this Sunday against Ealing at home.
