Old Albanians JRFC Festival of Rugby- Sunday 15th October 2017

We look forward to welcoming you all to Woollams once again for OAJRFC’s Festival of Rugby specifically for development players and new players to the game, for players from U7 to U12.

We are hoping to expand the size of the Festival this season and we are delighted to include Beaconsfield within our regular group of invited clubs and each OA’s age group will be bringing in an extra guest team to make up their pools.

The hope that by having broadly even teams every club should win a game, & every young player should enjoy playing on the day.

We also wish for the day to be as enjoyable as possible for all. The main aim of the day is to promote and inspire the development players, and new players to the game ,and we are sure that all those attending the Festival will follow the games core values, especially Respect of the opposition, officials and above all the Ref.

9:45am Group Photograph ALL PLAYERS AND COACHES (CLUB HOUSE)

10:00am Matches start – timings TBC

(PLEASE STAY - ALL TEAMS WILL GET A MEDAL)

Entry fee

Entry to the festival includes the cost of a medal for each player to take home, a hot dog for all players and professional medical cover.

Team Sizes & Format

We are expecting there will be 10 squads per age group. The festival will be played where every team will play each other in mini leagues or on a round robin basis.

Refs

To ensure the day runs smoothly each team entering will be required to bring at least one ref per age group. We appreciate that many coaches do not relish this task but without a ref, we don’t have a game ,and experience show’s us all that squad coaches generally make the best ref’s in the mini rugby world ,as we are the most familiar with the various age group rules.

Photography

Anyone parent or coach who wishes to take photos, must complete the attached photography form, and return to the control tent prior to taking any photos, where they will be issued a pass.

Food and Drink

Facilities at Woollams are very good and we will have a full range of catering available in the main clubhouse and Mobile catering will be based in the main car park.

The bar will be open from 12:00 and we would actively encourage you to stay and join us for a beer/coke following the Festival.

Directions

A link is attached for directions to Woollams Fields is attached below along with a pitch plan.

Can you please encourage your families to lift share as far as possible to make access / egress from the club easier and can you please ask them to observe the parking marshalls instructions when they arrive so we get everyone parked as swiftly as possible. With well over 750 players attending your families help in getting everyone in/out is appreciated.
