Another good outing last Sunday at Cow Lane with several more new faces joining us for a fast-pace and enjoyable session.

For the first time, we ran a "beginners clinic", headed up by Jon Hemlin, for those new to the game or still needing help with some of the core skill sets / understanding the "shape" of the game. This was very productive, with the newcomers showing a real desire to learn.

The right attitude to learning is key to progress, and very often the difference between the better players and those struggling is "in the head". Of course they are all still very young. Thankfully the discipline required to make headway comes to most of the players with age. Jon Benton made reference to the importance of discipline on the pitch, and I would urge you all to support the coaches as we try to make discipline an expectation rather than an option.

Two players shone in this respect, listening well and playing well as a result. Congratulations to our Players of the Week - George Lancaster and newcomer Felix Kheen - great channel discipline, strong running and tackling, well done to both of you!

This Sunday, we have a friendly fixture at Aylesbury. Aylesbury have a strict mixed ability policy, and we will therefore field four mixed ability squads. SO ALL REGISTERED* PLAYERS WILL PLAY - please let Helen know if you are not able to attend. As Aylesbury only have two squads at U10, there will be a number of Tring V Tring Fixtures. The emphasis on Sunday will be player development prior to upcoming tournaments - so expect the games to be stopped when learning points are being made.

Mouth guards and regulation rugby studs are mandatory - players not complying will NOT be able to play.

Please arrive in time for a 10.00 prompt star

See you all on Sunday,

Mike
