Huel Tring Rugby U10s is an exciting next step in a player's rugby journey. Players continue to build their confidence in contact while being introduced to some new elements of the game for the first time.

At U10s, players are introduced to the 3v3 scrum, 1v1 ruck and maul, helping them begin to understand how rugby works around the contact and set-piece areas.

These new elements are introduced safely and progressively, with the focus on developing good technique, confidence and understanding rather than simply competing to win the ball.

Players continue to develop their running, passing, catching, evasion, tackling and support skills, while becoming increasingly aware of space, teammates and defenders.

Through small-sided games, Game Zones and Skill Zones, players are encouraged to solve problems, communicate, work together and make their own decisions.

What's New at U10?

3v3 SCRUM – A first introduction to the scrum, developing safe body positions, connection and working together.

1v1 RUCK – Learning how to safely support and protect the ball following a tackle.

MAUL – Introducing how players stay connected, maintain strong body positions and work together when the ball carrier remains on their feet.
